Wired
Today I decided to focus on one of my favorite designs that I created for Lanark wallcovering recently. It is called "Wired" and it was inspired by circuit boards, current fashion metallic effects and contemporary architectural lighting. It started as a soft linen that I painted in watercolors. I kept changing it in Photoshop until I got the etched metal effect I was looking for. Along with a soft metal embossing, Wired looks like an alchemy of subtle layers fused together. The colors were inspired by pure metal pigments such as copper, pyrite and gold. Shown from top left: Wired-Karat L2-WI-07; Donna Karan metallic top and skirt; Lighting System by PSLAB-Beirut; Wired in Pyrite L2-WI-11 and Binary L2-WI-04; Prada clutch 09; Circuit Board and a nugget of Pyrite.
