Driftwood

Another interesting trend that stood out at the Maison Object show in Paris was the prevalant use of natural driftwood. I was personally taken with the rawness of the wood and the elegant twisted shapes. The colors though made even more of an impact on me. The shades were soft with a mixture of muted hues; light coco browns, feather plums and soft tinted whites worked naturally together. You are seeing these light bleached raw shades in fashion currently and will see even more in the next few years in the interior design world. 1. It is interesting to see the driftwood and natural woods are again becoming very obvious in Europe... I recently did a hotel project all with driftwood lights/lamps see some of it here http://asiandesignhouse.com/collections/

I think the trend ecological / sustainable trend still has a lot more to offer.
