Straw

The title of this post seems so boring...straw. Yet this trend for spring is not. Lately designers have been using the roughness of raw straw and transforming it into modern fashion pieces. Chanel's 2010 spring runway had a "home on the farm" look with rough edging on their clothes and handcrafted classic bags with texture. As our world get filled with electronic tools to help streamline our lives, designers and artists are using straw as a medium as a primal counter to all of this technology. The effect is textural, real and very beautiful.
