Apollo's Muse - The Moon in the Age of Photography
The moon and space travel have always been a source of inspiration for artists and the public in general. From the first telescope, to images of the first walk, back on earth, we dream of an otherworldly place to possibly travel to. Shown above are cultural interpretations of moon images. From early staged snapshots and matte paintings for movies to a textural and realistic artistic painting, our desire for space exploration has never waned. Photographed from the Apollo's Muse show at the Met Museum in NYC. https://www.metmuseum.org/exhibitions/listings/2019/apollos-muse-moon-photography
