Design Focus: Zanzibar

One of the first designs I created for the Lanark brand was the textile inspired pattern Zanzibar. With the global trends just starting to emerge, I wanted to design a pattern inspired by the traditional African “Kente” cloth. The design has a woven effect with strands of metal threads printed as a subtle highlight to the layered vertical weave. Since it was introduced the handcrafted African look has become more and more popular on the fashion runway and in interior projects.
