Multicolored Pop

While visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art, I was able to see the the Dior fashion exhibit and the designers that were inspired by the label. I personally was drawn to the colorful patterning of the the German designer Bernhard Wilhelm and the American designer Stephen Burrows. From checkered socks to multi-colored sneakers, these avant-garde designers mix humor with pop culture and contemporary art. The striped dress with circles and kaleidoscopic colors give a sense and belief that clothes, like toys, should be fun. Upbeat, easy to wear and unconventional these two designers inspire me to create joyous and experimental creations. https://www.philamuseum.org/
