Designers have been recently attracted to all things mineral and earth based, from luminescent crystals to simple masonry. The most recent addition to this obsession is lava stone. Pebbled, strong and porous, the look is coarse yet fresh. Simple in feel and layered with depth, lava stone is the new concrete. From sculpture to fashion and home products to lighting, this new trend is grounded and deep.
